Return to Activity Rehab in Hillsdale, MI
Get Back to Sport — At Full Capacity
Being cleared by your surgeon is not the same as being ready to perform. Most post-op protocols stop at functional benchmarks — not sport performance. If you want to return to running, CrossFit, or recreational sport the way you did before, you need more than clearance. You need a plan.

Cleared by Your Surgeon — But Still Not Performing Like Before
You Passed the Functional Test but Feel Off
Post-op clearance means you met the minimum standard — not that you are ready to compete. Returning to sport at your previous level requires progressive, performance-oriented programming that standard protocols rarely include.
Fear of Re-Injury Is Holding You Back
Confidence in the repaired area comes from building genuine strength and testing it progressively — not from just being told everything looks fine. Without that process, the fear stays even when the pain is gone.
Your Rehab Felt Too Conservative for Your Goals
Standard post-op protocols are designed to protect the repair — not to return you to sport. If your goal is to run again, get back to CrossFit, or compete, you need a program built around that target from the start.
Return to Activity Rehab That Targets Full Performance

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about return to activity rehab at Build Beyond Health.
I was already cleared by my surgeon. Do I still need this?
Surgical clearance means the repair is intact — not that you are ready to perform. Standard post-op protocols are built to protect the repair, not to return you to sport. If your goal is full performance, a structured, performance-oriented plan is what bridges that gap.
Can I still train while I am rehabbing?
In most cases, yes. Keeping you active through the process — at appropriate intensity — is a priority. Training does not stop during care; it is adjusted. Our team builds your program around what you can do now and progressively advances it toward your return-to-sport target.
How long before I can return to my sport?
Timeline depends on the injury, the surgery type, and your specific performance goals. What you will not get is an open-ended answer. After your evaluation, you receive a clear prognosis with a realistic timeline so you can plan your return with confidence.
I already did post-op rehab elsewhere. How is this different?
Most post-op protocols stop at functional benchmarks — passing a range of motion test or a basic strength test. Return to activity rehab at Build Beyond Health is goal-oriented, with strength and conditioning principles integrated from day one and a clear target tied to your actual sport or activity.
Do you accept insurance?
Build Beyond Health is cash-based — no insurance billing. We accept payment in full or installments and welcome HSA/FSA cards. Superbills are available upon request for patients with out-of-network benefits. Reimbursement is determined by your insurance plan and is not guaranteed by our clinic.
